PALM SPRINGS – GIRLS WEEKEND

Feb 5, 2017

In this day in age it is hard to be seen as the “cool mom”. With teenagers so focused on their appearance and social media posts, it’s no wonder we feel lost being the older generation. As new social media platforms arise what seems like every month, there has become a growing trend on posting in the moment. Even if that moment was captured weeks ago! For Brigit she wanted to take her daughter and friends to a fun weekend getaway. Were they could go pool hopping, clothes shopping, and trying all the trendy restaurants in town. Something that could make her the “cool mom”. A styled shoot was prepared as a surprise for the girls with Flytographer during their stay at the Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs.

For Anna, Alyssa, and Krystal is what all about creating Pinterest and Instagram worthy photos for all the world to see. Bright, vibrant, and fun photos of all the girls having a good time.
From the sunny pool, blowing bubble gum, and palm trees, it was a photo-shoot that quickly turned into a girls hang-out. With the bright colored property of the Saguaro hotel, it was hard not to be in a good mood!

Arranging outfits and backgrounds with these girls was just a blast. Who knew teenagers could be so much fun! Borrowing my sunglasses and purse I had on had to make the outfit look complete for the photo-op. These girls stopped at nothing to encourage each other to look their best. Not by what Seventeen magazine suggests, but being in the moment and enjoying the skin they live in. Being confident and supporting each other. This experience for them became more than just getting photos for social media. It became a bonding experience for the girls. So big props to mom for putting this together.

Have you ever thought about doing a girls trip? Maybe a weekend getaway within a few hours of where you live. Trying new restaurants, clothes shopping, and getting vacation photos done together. It will definitely add a new experience and meaning to the word friend!

Something I have always wanted to do is a weekend getaway to a winery. Lounge by the pool, eat at great restaurants, squeeze in a spa treatment. Does anyone else have this thought? If so send me a message and let’s make it happen!
